Principle of CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting employs a targeted approach to fat reduction called Selective Cryolipolysis, which leverages the unique susceptibility of fat cells to cold temperatures to eliminate them without surgery. This technique selectively cools and kills fat cells while preserving surrounding tissues such as skin, blood vessels, and nerves.
Development and Approvals:
・2008: The method was introduced as Selective Cryolipolysis.
・2010: Recognized for its effectiveness in fat reduction, it received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Mechanism of Action:
・Cell Targeting: Selective Cryolipolysis takes advantage of the fact that fat cells are more vulnerable to cold than other tissues. Under controlled conditions, it freezes (crystallizes) only the fat.
・Natural Cell Death: The frozen fat cells undergo apoptosis—a natural, programmed cell death—without causing inflammation or damaging nearby tissues.
・Safe Elimination: Over several months, these cells are safely digested and removed by white blood cells through a process called phagocytosis, without causing an abnormal increase in blood lipids.

02: Treatment
Treatment is conducted in private rooms for your comfort and privacy. The duration can range from several tens of minutes to a few hours, depending on individual needs. Once the CoolSculpting device is applied, you’re free to relax as you wish—use your mobile phone, watch movies on your laptop, or even take a nap. The procedure is generally painless, but we ask that you minimize movement to keep the device properly positioned.

03: After Treatment
Post-treatment, a nurse will remove the device and gently massage the treated area. You can then change back into your clothes and leave the clinic. Since CoolSculpting is non-surgical, most patients comfortably return to work or their daily activities immediately following the session.
